Hope is Needed
Hope Crisis Response Network is currently focusing our assets on our Middeltown, CA Hope City Project.
Hope City is a ministry of the Hope Crisis Response Network in partnership with Middletown Bible Church, The Bridge, Santa Rosa Bible Church, Community Baptist Church and First United Methodist of Santa Rosa. Hope City is a proud partner of Team Lake County.
Hope City is a collaboration of local faith-based organizations and corporate partners who have come together to help rebuild homes and restore lives. Hope City has committed 3-5 years to help rebuild homes at an estimated cost of $5-6 million dollars. All homes are built free of cost and without discrimination to the homeowner. Families contribute funds designated to the project and agree to participate in our extensive case management.
With no administration fees and a strong core team, our donors and volunteers see the biggest return from their small investment of their time or finances. It is our prayer that you and your team not only see how you can help in the recovery efforts of the Valley Fire, but also how you can renew yourself spiritually.
``To Provide for Those Who Grieve...``
The Valley Fire began on September 12th at 1:24 pm. What started out as a small fire of less then 400 acres blazed to over 10,000 acres in less than 12 hours burning more then 76,076 total acres and destroying more the 2000 structures. Damage Assessments place the destroyed homes at 1200+.
With a 25% poverty rate and a high unemployment, we anticipated that there would be many needs including a very large number of under insured and no insurance at all. The goal of Hope City is to assist in the rebuild process using volunteer labor from all over the U.S. and Canada.
``...To Bestow on them a Crown of Beauty Instead of Ashes...``
These dedicated teams come and serve for one week at a time. These volunteers contribute to the different stages of a house build varying anywhere from laying the foundation, setting the floor joists, framing the walls, setting the trusses for the roof, all the way to drywalling, painting and roofing. Hope City is unique as we collaborate with many local churches to create a partnership to serve the families of their community. Our goal is to build between 60-100 homes. This cannot be done without the commitment of local funders to help pay for the materials.
Hope City does not charge for its work so 100% of every dollar donated is matched
with our volunteer labor to maximize the resource. There are no administration fee’s.
At Hope City we care for the needs of our volunteers. We provide excellent accommodations including: Single beds not bunks, tasty hot meals, tools for the projects, materials on-site, leadership to oversee the work performed and a spirit of hospitality and appreciation.
We need YOUR help to make the Lake County community whole again. We pray that God has laid the Lake County community’s needs on your heart. If you have the passion to serve God as we serve others, here are several ways for you to get connected with HCRN to assist those affected by natural disasters.
